Do my customers need to download anything?
No. They point the camera at the code and the menu opens in the browser they already have. There is no app, no account and no sign-in — for them or for you.
What if they do not have data?
The menu is a small page and loads on almost nothing, but it does need the internet. Most restaurants that go this route keep a few printed menus behind the counter for the times it matters. We would rather tell you that than pretend it never comes up.
Do I have to type the whole menu in myself?
No. Send us a photo of your printed menu, a PDF, or whatever file your designer gave you, and we put it in for you and set it up in your branding. After that, changing a price or adding a dish takes a few seconds on your phone — but the first build is on us.
What happens to the QR code when I change the menu?
Nothing. The code points at your page, not at a particular version of it. Change a price, add a dish, take the whole winter menu off — the code on the table stays the same one forever. That is the point of it.
Can it look like my restaurant and not like staevi?
Yes, and that is most of what you are paying for. Your logo at the top, your colour on everything that is coloured, your sections in the order you want them, and a web address with your name in it. Our name appears once, small, at the bottom.
Am I signing a contract?
No. R249 a month, month to month. There is a button in your own dashboard that stops the charge — you do not have to phone anyone, email anyone or give a reason. The menu stays live until the end of the month you have paid for. No setup fee, no cancellation fee, no minimum term.
Does this replace my printed menus?
It can, and for most places it does after a while. It does not have to. Plenty of restaurants keep a printed menu for the window and the wine list and use the QR for everything that changes — specials, prices, the things that sell out.
I run a guesthouse, not a restaurant.
