Terms of Service

1. Who we are

staevi Technologies (Pty) Ltd ("staevi", "we") operates a guest experience platform that connects guesthouse guests, accommodation providers ("properties"), and local experience providers ("partners") in South Africa.

2. The service

staevi provides: a guest portal accessed by QR code containing stay information supplied by the property; a marketplace where guests may book experiences offered by partners; and dashboards for properties and partners to manage their content, bookings, and earnings.

3. Bookings and payments

Experience and dining bookings are contracts between the guest and the partner. staevi facilitates the introduction and the booking; it does not take a commission and does not receive or hold the money the guest pays the partner. Partners keep 100% of what guests spend with them and pay for bookings using booking credits purchased from staevi — a fixed number of credits per confirmed booking, refunded to the partner where a guest does not arrive and the partner records the booking as a no-show.

Where a property has provided its own payment details, staevi may display them to a guest so the guest can pay that property directly. Any such payment is between the guest and the property. staevi is not a party to it, does not process or hold those funds, and does not store card details.

4. Cancellations and refunds

Each listing displays its own cancellation terms before booking. Refunds for cancelled experiences are processed to the original payment method. Where a partner cancels or materially changes a booking, the guest is entitled to a full refund.

5. Property and partner obligations

• Information published through staevi (prices, descriptions, availability, house rules) must be accurate and kept current.
• Partners are responsible for the delivery, safety, licensing, and insurance of the experiences they offer.
• Properties are responsible for the accuracy of stay information shown to their guests.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use staevi to publish unlawful, misleading, or harmful content, to circumvent the platform's payment flow for bookings originated through it, or to interfere with the service's operation.

7. Liability

staevi is a facilitation platform. To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, staevi is not liable for the acts or omissions of properties or partners, or for loss arising from participation in experiences booked through the platform.

8. Termination

Properties and partners may stop using staevi at any time by pausing or removing their content. staevi may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
